Engineer reports progress on Our Lady of the Lake, Kennedy Heights and wastewater, awaits final solar-grant notice

Regarding the wastewater treatment plant and a brown-water issue, Jared said the city submitted materials for congressional directed spending and was responding to follow-up questions from funding authorities. On the city’s solar grant, Jared said the grant agency accepted the application (AOR accepted) and the city is now awaiting final authorization to post bids.
Council members asked follow-up questions about specifics, including how many air-release valves and which lift stations or generators were included in the grant packages. Jared said valve counts and lift-station details were pending a review by a staff member (Darren) and that some elements would be contingent on the grant award.
Next steps: engineering staff will finalize right-of-way paperwork for Our Lady of the Lake, proceed with DOTD submittal for Kennedy Heights, continue coordination with Entergy and contractors for Freeland Jackson, and await final grant approval on the solar project before bidding.
