Commission confirms committee and board appointments, including Board of Review seat
Summary

The Munising City Commission reviewed and approved a number of committee and board appointments at the meeting.
Commissioners discussed representation on the DDA, planning commission, parks and recreation, buildings and grounds, the regional solid-waste/recycling committee and several other liaison roles. Commissioners volunteered to continue or accept several assignments and staff confirmed the mayor serves as the DDA representative by charter. After discussion, the commission moved to approve the slate of appointments and carried the motion.
The commission also considered and approved the appointment of John Tate to the Board of Review. Commissioners noted Tate’s local involvement and prior service experience; a motion to appoint him was moved, seconded and carried.
In a separate item the commission reappointed a longtime member to the Housing Commission at the board’s request; commissioners discussed timing and procedural questions about reappointments but approved the nomination.
