During the governance portion of the meeting the committee discussed electing a vice chair and whether to hold fewer meetings each year. Staff reminded members that the municipal code permits reduced meeting frequency and that attendance is reported to the city council; committee members said past communication had fallen short and asked for more timely notices and posting of plans and schedules.
A motion to keep the current chair passed; a subsequent motion to adopt a 2026 calendar that excludes December was moved, seconded and approved. Committee members discussed calling special meetings if issues arise in months that are not regularly scheduled and asked staff to circulate Council Policy 105 to clarify the process for placing items on the council agenda.
Members did not take additional formal action on enforcement models or funding at the meeting; staff said it will follow up and work with committee members to place items on future agendas if the committee requests them.
