She said that the portion of the project associated with the Ray Lynn contract is just under $3 million and that the total renovation of the Chicago Avenue maintenance complex could be closer to $4 million once all work and infrastructure replacements are included.
Janca described specific additional needs that prompted the request: infrastructure related to security (new fence), electrical and water-main work, replacement of gas pumps, new parking and a PEMB structure built on the existing slab. She broke down portions of the additional funding, noting roughly $500,000 earmarked for the PEMB and separate sums for fire marshal‑required infrastructure items.
Commissioners asked for the total project cost and staff clarified where the additional funds would be used. The item was presented for board consideration; transcript shows discussion and clarification but does not record a final vote in this work session.
