LaSalle County committee approves two reappointments, forwards nursing-home administrator pick to full board

The resolution sets first-year compensation at $110,243.42 and says annual compensation thereafter will be determined by the land use and salary-and-labor committees; the committee approved the appointment after a roll-call affirmation of ayes.
On a separate item, the committee considered a hiring-subcommittee recommendation to appoint Don Saint Clair Davis as LaSalle County nursing home administrator, with an at-will appointment beginning July 13, 2026. The resolution as presented listed an annual salary of $160,000 ($13,333.33 monthly) and three weeks of vacation; committee members said they had heard positive remarks about the candidate but did not have detailed background information. Ray Gadsa, participating remotely, asked for more specifics; the chair said staff could provide additional materials or the full board could consider the item in executive session if members wanted in-depth review. The committee voted to forward the appointment to the full county board for final consideration.
The committee’s actions reflect routine personnel management: reappointments moved forward with committee endorsement, and the nursing-home administrator nomination will receive full-board review and any additional vetting there.
The committee also approved prior meeting minutes and adjourned. The nursing-home administrator appointment will return on the full board agenda for action.
