Council approves $15,000 allocation to Chamber for July 4 parade security

City Clerk read the resolution title. Parks Director Lina Hicks summarized the planned use of the $15,000 that council had previously authorized: $8,500 for parade barriers to line the route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff to staff the event, and $4,000 to be allocated to the Chamber for security and event staffing. "The funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break it up, of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said.
A councilmember moved to approve Resolution 1881 and the council approved the resolution by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the public transcript.
The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute the amendment to the service agreement so the Chamber can proceed with security arrangements for the July 4 parade.
