Planning Board outlines tree-planting plan for 250th, notes AG acceptance of ADU articles and new staff hire

During administrative matters at the Jan. 29, 2026 meeting, Vice Chair Amy MacNulty described a tree‑planting program intended to use the town’s tree fund to improve canopy across Lynnfield ahead of the town’s 250th anniversary celebration in mid‑June. She said residents will suggest planting locations and the Planning Board will coordinate with the Department of Public Works to confirm viable sites, and urged that the plan be publicized promptly so the town can "be ready to plant 25 trees in time to recognize the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution."
MacNulty also reported that on Jan. 28 the state Attorney General accepted the Town Meeting articles related to accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and asked that the information be posted to the town website. Planning & Conservation Director Emilie Cademartori announced a new department staff member will start Feb. 9 and that the department has moved into the new Town Hall.
The Board approved prior meeting minutes (Nov. 19 and Dec. 18, 2025) by unanimous vote earlier in the meeting. No formal votes regarding the tree program or the ADU article posting were recorded in these minutes; the items were discussed and next steps were administrative (publicizing the ADU acceptance and coordinating tree locations with DPW).
