Resident asks whether Amplify curriculum will expand beyond K–3 and raises class-size concerns

During the public comment period, Kathleen Landry of 75 Miller Street asked two questions: which grades the Amplify program currently serves, and when the district addresses the regulatory maximum class size of 27.
Board and administrative responses confirmed Amplify is currently used in kindergarten through third grade; expansion to fourth grade was described as budget-dependent and under consideration. The superintendent said the program is well received and that expansion would depend on fiscal circumstances.
On class size, the superintendent said Franklin School had one additional first‑grade registrant recently, and that each first‑grade classroom at Franklin currently has a paraprofessional; the district monitors enrollments and will notify the superintendent and board before permitting an additional registration that would push a classroom past the 27‑student threshold so that the board can consider options.
Landry also asked about how and when class‑size concerns are elevated; officials described active tracking of registrants and the presence of support staff in full classrooms as an interim measure while the district evaluates space and staffing.
