The Borough of Saddle River on April 20 approved a resolution authorizing submission of a Bergen County Historic Preservation Trust Fund grant application to replace the roof at 125 West Saddle River Road, block 16006 lot 23.
Borough engineer Martin summarized the project during the public hearing: the borough purchased the property with the assistance of a county open‑space grant previously; the current application seeks a 50/50 matching grant for an estimated $80,000–$100,000 cedar‑shake roof and gutter replacement. If awarded, the borough will proceed to public bidding for actual costs.
Council moved to authorize the grant application (Resolution 108‑26). The resolution received a motion, second and a roll‑call vote in favor and was adopted.
The borough said it will post grant documentation and, if successful, put the work out to public bid. The estimate provided during the hearing is preliminary; the final contract value will be set after competitive bids are received.
