Board approves multiple field trips, facility use and a contract to refresh district website

The Runnemede Board of Education on Oct. 15 approved several facility-use requests, field trips and a contract to update the district website.

Under Property and Transportation approvals, the board cleared Volz Schoolgymnasium use for the National Honor Society induction and approved multiple field trips: Wheels of the Community (Volz, 10/16/25), Duffields Farm pumpkin-picking (rescheduled to 10/20/25), a Gloucester Township Coffee with Vets event (11/25/25), a Medieval Times trip for sixth grade on April 30, 2026 (two T & L buses at $467.50 each, total $935), and a New York City Broadway/choir and band trip on May 27, 2026 (charter bus, student-paid). Motion to approve facility use and field trips was moved by Barbara Sams and seconded by Melissa Warner; roll call was 8-0-0-1.

As part of the finance package, the board also approved a contract with Educational Networks to create and enhance the Runnemede Public School District website, and authorized payment of related professional development and vendor invoices included in the finance motion (motion moved by Lindsay Davey; second Lisa OBrien). The website contract and professional-development requests appear in the meeting materials attached to the finance agenda.

The board recorded transport cost details for the Medieval Times trip and noted the New York City trip is being paid by participating students, teachers and parent chaperones; the district will arrange charter/regular buses as needed.

Next steps: District staff will finalize vendor contracts, confirm bus reservations and post trip permission and payment details to families.
