Council President McGawan introduced the consent agenda and said a corrected version of the payment-of-bills was included in council packets. After a motion and a second, the council approved the consent agenda on a roll-call vote with affirmative votes recorded from Council President McGawan; Council Debor Con; Councilman Quron; Councilman Kley; and Councilman Guzman.
Mayor Nazi then announced two appointments: Clifford Soers and Mary Sover were recommended for permanent school crossing guard status, effective Aug. 25, 2025, “in accordance with the rules and regulations of the New Jersey Civil Service Commission.” Councilman Ganon moved the confirmations, the council president seconded, and the motion passed on a roll-call vote that recorded unanimous affirmative votes from the members present.
The council next considered a separate appointment: Dylan Serano for permanent status as an alternate school crossing guard, also effective Aug. 25, 2025, under the same Civil Service Commission rules cited earlier. Councilman Guzman moved the appointment, the council president seconded, and the council again approved it unanimously by roll call.
There were no public comments. The council moved to adjourn shortly after the votes and closed the meeting.
The appointments take effect Aug. 25, 2025; the council cited compliance with the New Jersey Civil Service Commission rules when confirming the hires.
