Board members discussed whether allowing one organization free use would require extending similar concessions to others. Following that discussion, Badgero moved, seconded by Nick Smith, to leave the Graves Lodge Rental Agreement language unchanged; that motion passed by unanimous consent.
Nick Smith told the board that the MSU Conservation Stewards Program had requested changes to the rental agreement prior to signing. The board concluded it would not alter the agreement at this time, noting fairness and consistency with the current policy.
The decision leaves the current rental terms in place and rejects the MSU request for no-charge use for the two dates requested. The board took the vote during its July 11, 2024 meeting at Newaygo City Hall.
