Board records multiple hires and resignations; administrators say most departures are EIP staff

The Salem County Special Services Board approved a slate of personnel actions on Feb. 25 that included new hires, transfers, intermittent FMLA approvals, multiple resignations and two announced retirements.
Among hires approved were Hannah Rodriguez (Instructional Aide, Daretown Campus), Shekirha Holland (Instructional Aide, Cumberland Campus), Joseph Rivera (Food Service Student Worker) and Diara McGriff (Instructional Aide, Cumberland Campus). The board approved a transfer for Mariah Moore to School Nurse at the Cumberland Campus and accepted resignations and retirements including Carrie Kloss (resignation, effective March 7), Julie Hicke (resignation, effective Feb. 14), Dalton Hughes (resignation, effective March 17), Alberto Turner (resignation, effective Feb. 28), Jessica Anderson (resignation, effective Feb. 4), and retirements for Jane Smith (Salem Nurse, effective June 30) and Sandra Graham (Cumberland Aide, effective June 30).
Superintendent and business administrators recommended stipend payments of $1,500 each for Jami Munyan and Justin Glenn to cover grading and health class teaching during a leave and approved an FMLA request for an employee through early May. The minutes show the board approved the personnel package by roll call.
During reports, board member James Davis asked about the number of resignations. Business Administrator Frank H. Maurer III responded that the departures are mainly EIP staff who have moved on, not full‑time staff, and noted increased intakes at the Cumberland campus and a need for additional instructional aides.
The board recorded the personnel approvals as motions during the meeting and voted in favor where roll calls are noted. No additional public action or emergency hiring measures were recorded in the public portion of the meeting.
