Betsy McBride asked why the Commerce Director position had not been posted; Mayor Veler said the post would be advertised soon. Several residents, including Stacy Pennington, raised flooding concerns on Front Street. Tatiana Rodgers said she is interested in purchasing Thompson Street properties for affordable housing development; Mayor Veler responded that the city owns one property there and staff would convene a meeting to discuss options. Joyce Johnson and Stacy Stiff queried the status of hiring for the public works manager position. Joyce Johnson also raised concern about a collapsing house on East Broadway; Ben Angeli said the city was preparing bids to address the property.
Council closed the public portion after the residents' remarks and moved to an executive session to discuss collective bargaining and litigation-related items.
