Salem council introduces ordinances to sell aging pumper, add handicapped parking and create Adopt‑A‑Lot program

Ordinance 25‑01 would authorize the sale of a 1999 E‑One pumper fire truck the city no longer needs to Elsinboro Township. Councilmember S. Kellum moved the ordinance for introduction and Councilmember V. Groce seconded; the roll call vote on the introduction was recorded as unanimous.
Ordinance 25‑02 and Ordinance 25‑03 would each add a handicapped parking space and signs at specified addresses in the city—126 Carpenter Street and 25A Seventh Street, respectively. Both were introduced on a Kellum/Groce motion and will return for public hearing on March 17.
Ordinance 25‑04 would amend the City code to establish a new chapter creating an Adopt‑A‑Lot program. The proposed program was introduced for first reading and will be publicly heard on March 17.
