Advisory board hears RFQ update and shoreline-repair plan; contractor to build spillway bridge

Public Works Director Richard Mills updated the Piperton Parks and Recreation Advisory Board May 12 that the city published a request for qualifications for a park grant and had received one response; Mills will send the board the submission and a grading sheet and expects the firm to appear at next month’s meeting for questions before negotiating price.
Mills also reported erosion along the northeast side of the park lake and proposed adding dirt and concrete gabions to stabilize the shoreline. He said he intends to have “Mouse” build a bridge across the spillway next month and that staff will email a design to the board for approval. No formal vote was recorded on repair scope or contractor selection during this meeting.
The board requested materials from staff and will consider the RFQ responses and the bridge design at a future meeting; Mills said the work will proceed after the board reviews and staff negotiates pricing with the selected firm.
