Chair Andra Carter raised including cemetery irrigation in the Town's conservation measures. Staff member Wyatt said the governor had declared a drought-related emergency encouraging water conservation and noted the Town already has an outdoor watering schedule for residents.
Committee members discussed possible approaches including rotating watering by cemetery sections, pairing sections for irrigation on designated days, and reviewing previously adopted cemetery watering schedules that may already be on the Town website. Members agreed further research is needed and no formal action was taken at the meeting.
The Committee left the item for a future meeting after verifying existing signage and prior policy so any change would accurately reflect what is posted and previously adopted.
