Members emphasized the need to track volunteer hours to meet grant match requirements and identified a June deadline tied to the grant project.
The committee discussed on-site improvements intended to help visitors locate graves, including a proposed display board and the possible addition of a veterans recognition element near the gazebo. Coordination with a person identified as Kimball on gazebo placement was noted, and a cement quote from Geneva Rock for approximately $1,050 for a 12-by-12-foot, 4-inch slab was reported. The committee also said gravel for site work is expected to be donated by Sons and Daughters.
Members raised safety and accessibility concerns related to the cemetery entrance and parking, specifically noting a fire risk from vehicles parking in tall grass.
