Mr. Laurentino presented Personnel items (P2425-29 through P2425-36), noting two leaves (medical and maternity), a resignation, and that a high-school Spanish-teacher appointment offered earlier in the day had been accepted. He also summarized student-teacher placements and internship activity across the district and described Best Buddies Club advisor assignments.
When a board member asked about covering M. Lee's school-psychologist duties, administrators said the position has been posted and the district will use partner services (a joint-services consortium) to provide interim coverage until a permanent hire is made.
During public comment, Thomas van Linko of 128 Lincoln Avenue invited board members to the Saddle Community Partnership meeting, explaining the group's 2016 origins with Pastor Christopher Wolf and Mayor Robert White and its role coordinating schools, faith groups, first responders and businesses to support residents and students. "I do want to invite everyone on the board of education to join us for the meetings every month," van Linko said, noting the next meeting is Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room.
Personnel and community items were set to appear on Wednesday's agenda for any formal board action.
