The Northport Board of Education voted to approve a package of policy revisions and rescissions at its Dec. 8, 2025 regular meeting.
The motion, moved by Tom Wetherbee and supported by Ryan Blessing, covered a list of district policies presented by administration and carried 7—7. Policies adopted, revised, deleted, or otherwise changed included Policy 1422/3122/4122 (Nondiscrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Anti-Harassment), the rescission of Policies 1422.02/3122.02/4122.02 and 1662/3362/4362, and revisions or technical corrections to Policies 2260; 2260.01; 1623/3123/4123; 2210; 2266; 2412; 4162; 5120; 5460; 5517.01; 7540.02; 7541 (rescinded); 8300; and 8305 as presented to the Board.
The Board did not record extended debate in the minutes; the motion was approved unanimously by members present. The policy package covers topics ranging from nondiscrimination and Section 504/ADA compliance to curriculum development, graduation requirements and information-security planning. The administration presented the changes as a single package and the Board approved them "as presented."
