Norway council nominates Jeff Maro for mayor pro tem, then tables formal selection until full council can attend

Following that explanation, Grant nominated Jeff Maro; the motion was seconded and the members present voted yes.
Later in the meeting, a council member asked that the selection be deferred until the entire governing body could participate. A motion to table agenda item four—selection of the mayor pro tem—until the next regularly scheduled meeting was made, seconded and approved by the three members present.
Why it matters: The mayor pro tem is authorized by the charter to conduct regular business when the mayor is absent. By tabling the formal selection until full attendance, the council avoided completing an appointment that some members preferred to decide with the full membership.
