Council discussed keeping the alley open for handicap access, staging closures earlier in the day (around 4:30–5 p.m.) to allow vehicles to enter, and designating where vintage cars would be displayed to reduce pressure on Main Street.
One council member opposed a Main Street closure, saying it would affect too many businesses; another advocated trying the 9th Avenue alternative for one event and reassessing. Council directed staff to work with the organizer and the DDA on traffic and parking logistics. The motion to approve the event and close East 9th Avenue for the car show passed with council support.
