Seaside Heights council backs Green Acres park development grant application after public hearing

Borough planner and grant consultant Jennifer Gorini presented the purpose and scope of the proposed park project during the advertised public hearing. Following questions and discussion at the hearing, the council approved Resolution No. 26‑87, the Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres Program Park Development Application Enabling Resolution. The motion to approve was moved by Michael Carbone, seconded by Harry Smith; recorded votes show approval by Ferrone, Triano, Graichen, Carbone and Smith (Councilor Tompkins was absent).
The council also authorized Resolution No. 26‑88, permitting an application to the Department of Community Affairs for a Local Recreation Improvement Grant; that motion passed with the same recorded majority and Tompkins again absent.
The resolutions enable the borough to seek state grant funds to support the park development project described by the planner. The minutes do not specify grant request amounts or a project timeline; staff follow‑up was implied as the next step.
