Seaside Park council approves consent agenda, authorizes community events and claims payments

Seaside Park Borough Council approved its consent agenda during its Oct. 2 regular meeting, adopting minutes from Sept. 18, authorizing a community 5K scheduled for Oct. 25, and approving the town’s itemized claims for Sept. 19–Oct. 2.

The council clerk read a list of resolutions numbered 325–335 that included appointments of special law enforcement officers, authorization to sell surplus property, adjustments to water and sewer accounts, certification of the annual audit and acceptance of a corrective action plan for the 2024 audit, application to the New Jersey Clean Vessel Act grant program, acceptance of a resignation from the code department, and other routine matters. The slate was moved as a consent agenda and passed by roll call.

Council Member Condos made the motion to approve the minutes and other consent items; Council Member Craft seconded. The council then voted to approve the payment of claims on the check registry for the listed period and to adopt the resolutions as presented. The public portion on the resolutions was opened and, with no comments recorded specific to those items, closed before the consent vote.

Among the authorizations was a community 5K listed on the agenda as a ‘‘5K for pizza’’; a councilor later clarified that the beneficiary named in the record is the ‘‘John Bonjovi Soul Kitchen’’ and that a related raffle will support a November event. The council also accepted the resignation of James Clayton from the code department and approved administrative and grant-related items listed on the agenda.

The meeting proceeded to announcements and public comment after the consent vote; no separate, individual roll-call votes were recorded on the consent items. The council moved to adjourn at the close of the meeting.
