Shrewsbury Borough School District reports improved NJQSAC scores, district and school grade 73 of 78

At its Nov. 20 meeting the Shrewsbury Borough School District Board accepted the 2022–2023 District Performance Review (NJQSAC) results and approved the School Safety and Security Plan annual Statement of Assurance for 2024–2025.
Superintendent MacConnell presented the DPR area scores: Instruction and Program improved to 81% (from 77), Fiscal Management rose to 96% (from 60), Governance was 80%, Operations 87% and Personnel 92%. The board also approved the state-required District and School Grade for 2022–2023, both recorded as 73 out of a maximum 78 points.
Board members recorded that November’s HIB report showed zero reported incidents. The acceptance of the DPR and the safety-plan assurance were adopted as part of consent-agenda approvals by voice vote (eight yes, zero no, one absent).
Why it matters: NJQSAC is New Jersey’s formal district performance review covering instruction, governance, operations, personnel and fiscal management; the minutes show measurable gains in instruction and fiscal areas that may affect state oversight and future district planning.
