The Olivet City Council on Oct. 14 voted unanimously to approve a series of routine agenda items, including event permissions, a library-board appointment, acceptance of an election Emergency Operations Plan, a conditional hire for the city assessor position, parking-space changes, a three-year insurance policy renewal (inflationary increase only), a sidewalk contract and payment of the presented bills.

- Oli-Ween haunted buses: Council approved allowing Dean Transportation to place two haunted buses in the City parking lot behind City Hall for the Oli-Ween event on Oct. 26 (motion by Walker; carried 6–0).

- Sidewalk replacement: Council hired Xact Excavating to replace sidewalk in front of Blair Hall at a cost not to exceed $1,900; The University of Olivet will be billed for half and expected to pay within three years (motion by Hoffdahl; carried 6–0).
- Bills: Council voted to pay the presented bills (motion by Peterson; carried 6–0).
Most motions were unanimous (6–0). The council also debated the level of detail to keep in meeting minutes and agreed to shorten minutes while retaining recordings for review. The meeting adjourned at 8:44 p.m.
