At its Dec. 18, 2024 meeting the Shrewsbury Borough School District Board of Education accepted the 2023–24 audit prepared by HFA Certified Public Accountants and approved several routine finance certifications and payments.
Business Administrator and Board Secretary Lindsey Case certified the district payrolls for Nov. 15 ($313,820.65) and Nov. 27 ($285,697.41) and presented the Board of Education Certification of Budget Major/Fund Status for November 2024 consistent with N.J.A.C. 6A:20‑2.13(d). The board approved the bills list for December 2024 totaling $1,590,776.72.
The minutes state that the audit and Auditor’s Management Report contained no findings; the board resolved to forward a copy of the audit to the Monmouth County Executive County Superintendent as required. The board also accepted the Treasurer’s Report and the Board Secretary’s monthly certification for November 2024.
The superintendent also noted grant activity: acceptance of a $5,000 MOCSSIF grant (account #20-003-200-600-04-0) was recommended and included in the finance approvals.
The HIB (Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying) report for December 2024 was listed in the minutes as: “December 2024 1 HIB case: 1 accused - confirmed 1 accused - non-confirmed.” Ms. Choi abstained from the vote on item 5.1 (HIB reports); the minutes record one abstention on that item and a roll call showing six yes votes for the agenda overall.
Next steps: routine processing of certified payrolls, bills and acceptance of the audit for filing with county officials as recorded in the minutes.
