At its Jan. 15 meeting, the Shrewsbury Borough School District Board of Education approved several personnel items recommended by Superintendent Mr. MacConnell.
The board approved an extension for Emily Cuervo to serve as mentor to novice teacher Kelsey McCauley at a prorated rate of $330 for the period January through June 2025; the mentor stipend will be deducted from the novice teacher’s salary as presented. The board accepted the retirement of Staci Fox effective July 1, 2025. The board also approved a medical leave for LeeAnn Arnts from Jan. 15, 2025 through March 21, 2025 for the 2024–2025 school year.
Additionally, the board adopted a resolution authorizing the Superintendent to take actions necessary to protect district interests between this meeting and the next scheduled meeting, subject to consultation with appropriate district officials and the Board President and to ratification at the Feb. 19, 2025 meeting.
The Personnel Committee report and recommendations were moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes; the roll call on agenda items shows eight ayes and one absent, indicating board approval of the personnel items.
Next steps: The board will ratify any interim personnel actions at the February 19, 2025 meeting as required by the adopted resolution.
