Seaside Heights council approves budget introduction, redevelopment plan and multiple resolutions including $988,363.90 in bills

The Seaside Heights Borough Council on April 1 approved a series of resolutions and ordinances, introduced the 2026 municipal budget and authorized contracts and grant participation.
On a consent agenda the council approved Resolution No. 26-120 authorizing payment of bills in the amount of $988,363.90. The consent agenda also included approvals for amusement games licenses (Res. 26-121), volunteer appointments to the Seaside Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Water Rescue Team (Res. 26-122), and an award of an IT consulting and technology support services contract to Targeted Technologies LLC (Res. 26-123).
Council authorized acceptance of grant funds and participation in the COPS in Shops Summer Initiative 2026 program (Res. 26-124) and authorized sale of surplus property via an online auction website (Res. 26-125). The council also approved awarding fixed-rate insured prescription management services to Benecard (Res. 26-127) and adopted a governing body certification of compliance with EEOC guidance related to consideration of arrest and conviction records in employment decisions (Res. 26-128).
On the ordinance calendar Council took up Ordinance 2026-07 (amending Chapter 246, Zoning and Land Use) at public hearing and approved final adoption after no public comment. The agenda also listed Ordinance 2026-08 (exceeding municipal budget appropriation limits and establishing a cap bank) and Ordinance 2026-09 (adopting the fourth amended Boulevard Redevelopment Plan covering specified blocks along the Boulevard); the council moved and recorded approval as shown in the minutes.
Council approved introduction of the 2026 municipal budget following a motion by Council Member Michael Carbone, seconded by Council Member Harry Smith. The meeting record also shows approvals for municipal events, including the Great American Volleyball Tournament (May 8–9) and Bike MS: Coast the Coast (May 9), with the Easter Promenade rain date announced for April 12.
Public comment included brief updates from Adam Tormollan, executive director of the BID, who reported the Easter Egg Hunt was well attended, and Mike Graichen, executive director of Special Events, who advised an April 12 rain date for the Easter Promenade. Mayor Vaz announced a Senior Citizens meeting scheduled for April 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Community Center. The council adjourned at 5:43 p.m.
