Seaside Heights board approves personnel, HIB report, field trips and shared-service contracts

The Seaside Heights Board of Education approved routine consent and business items at its March 23 meeting, including personnel actions, a Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB) report, field trips, shared-service contracts and administrative reports.
On personnel, the board approved a leave of absence for a staff member (I.D. #4065) for Feb. 16–27, 2026, and authorized two substitutes for the 2025–26 school year, Rocio Barajas (Food Services Worker) and Cari Floros (Teacher). The HIB report for the period Feb. 6–March 23 showed zero HIB incidents and zero suspensions.
Other approvals included a revised 2025–26 school calendar, a Memorandum of Agreement between education and law enforcement (to be finalized with County changes when received), and a field trip for Thursday, June 4, 2026 to Casino Pier on the Seaside Heights boardwalk (10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.). The board also authorized a planned America250 celebration focused on the Cranberry Skirmishes for Sept. 25, 2026 (rain date Oct. 2) at the Hugh J. Boyd cafeteria/gym and monument across from the American Legion.
The board approved a Special Education Medicaid Initiative (SEMI) corrective action plan for 2026–27 and accepted shared-service contracts with Island Heights (preschool intervention coach and world-language teacher), Ocean Gate (preschool intervention coach) and Lavallette (world language teacher) for the 2026–27 school year.
Routine business votes included approval of minutes, payment of bills ($241,334.56) and bi-monthly payrolls for Feb. 15 and Feb. 28. Motions to approve these items carried on roll call with Ms. Franciosi, Ms. Richardson and Dr. Marko voting yes.
During public discussion on non-agenda items, Miriam Snyder invited the board to Boyd Day on April 17 to celebrate the school. The open session was adjourned at 5:38 p.m.
