At its July 8 meeting, the Hackberry Elementary School District Governing Board approved several personnel and policy actions intended to prepare the district for the coming school year.
The board approved a $5,000 stipend for Debbie Lund to serve as Lead Teacher/Mentor Teacher for SY25–26 (motion by Tammy Herrera, second by Pam Adams; recorded as Passed 5–0). The board also approved hiring Magdelena Baker as a part‑time custodian for SY25–26 on the same vote record.
The board approved the Administration Evaluation Tool for SY25–26 and adopted revisions to the Student and Parent Handbook and the Employee Handbook for SY25–26. The board also approved a Cyber Incident Plan and Media Response Plan and an Emergency Operations Plan for the coming school year; motions for these items were recorded as Passed 5–0 where indicated.
During consent and new business votes the board confirmed administrative assignments for fiscal controls, including designation of Christina Ramirez and Samuel Dell as administrators for the district Wells Fargo credit card for FY26, and approved Student Council fundraisers for the first semester of SY25–26.
Board members discussed a large set of advisory policies (Nos. 716; 783–786; 808; 819–862; 863–865; 876–905) on first read and scheduled a special meeting for July 14, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. for further policy review and approvals. The meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
