Florence denies Mid‑South Meter building plan, approves Town Mart permit and Eagle Car Wash expansion

At its July 15 meeting the Florence Mayor and Board denied a building proposal for Mid‑South Meter and approved permits for two other commercial projects.
Community Development Director Joel Sims recommended denying Perry Goode’s Mid‑South Meter application for a new building at 102 Indian Creek Drive because the proposal did not meet the city’s current architectural requirements. Alderman Mason Herrin moved the denial, Alderman Kyle Martin seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Sims also recommended, and the board approved unanimously, a request by Eagle Car Wash to construct an additional car bay and perform a facelift of the facility. Separately, the board approved issuing a building permit for Town Mart convenience store at 131 Hwy. 469 North, Florence, MS; that motion carried unanimously on Sims’s recommendation.
