The Burnersville Borough Planning Board voted to extend review deadlines for two pending subdivision matters, approved routine bills and moved into executive session to discuss ongoing litigation.
At the start of the meeting the board approved the minutes from March 27. The board then considered a written request dated April 14, 2025, from an applicant identified in the record as "Echo" for an additional 90-day extension of the 190-day initial review period for a final minor subdivision. The board found delays associated with mortgage-company issues and other matters to be sufficient and voted by roll call to extend the deadline from May 2 to July 31.
A second extension request, originally for 10 days, was discussed and the board agreed to a more prudent 60-day extension to limit repeat appearances; the resolution was adjusted to set the new deadline as June 18 and carried by roll-call vote.
The board also approved payment of bills totaling $3,811.75 and authorized the chair to sign the vouchers.
Before adjourning to closed session, the board adopted a resolution under the open‑meetings exemption for litigation to discuss two matters: a case described in the record as "G versus planning board and Equinet Properties" (San County Superior Court, docket SOM-L546-25) and a separate case listed as "AR at Bernardsville versus planning board" (county superior court, docket SOM-HELD-1912). The resolution took effect immediately and the board entered executive session.
The board announced that discussions held in executive session may be released to the public later if the board determines confidentiality is no longer required.
