Pittsfield Community Development Board approves minutes, permits and sets next steps for Master Plan

The Pittsfield Community Development Board convened virtually on Feb. 17 and handled routine approvals and administrative updates, including minutes and two permitting items.
The board unanimously approved the Jan. 20 minutes after a motion by Libby Herland and a second from Floriana FitzGerald. Patrick McColgan of Taconic Land Consultants described a plan to divide a property at 58 Hillcrest Avenue on behalf of Nicholas Masiero; on motion by Herland and second by FitzGerald the board determined subdivision approval was not required and approved that determination unanimously.
The board also reviewed a site plan submitted by Marc LeVasseur of Foresight Land Services on behalf of property owner Jeffery Carr to dredge and remove sediment from an existing residential pond that originated from a former sawmill. LeVasseur said the plan calls for off‑site disposal of dredged material and noted the project is awaiting Conservation Commission permitting. The board approved the site plan with a special condition and affirmed that the applicant remains subject to federal, state and local permitting requirements.
Staff reported the draft Master Plan may be ready by mid‑March, with public review planned for late spring; staff requested early information so the board can review material promptly. Board members were told the next CDB meeting will be March 17. Floriana FitzGerald reported the Affordable Housing Trust recently heard a Hearthway presentation about projects including plans for 55 Linden St., the former Polish Community Club.
The board adjourned at 7:15 p.m. following a motion from FitzGerald and a second from Gary Levante.
