The River Ridge Community Development District Board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term through November 2026) at its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman's resignation letter. Board members discussed the appointment process for the unexpired term, agreeing to have Mr. Long and The Meadows' property owners' association manager e-blast residents with vacancy information and candidate qualification requirements and to ask interested residents to submit a resume or letter of interest prior to the next meeting. The Board noted that, because this is an appointment rather than an election, candidates must comply with required ethics training and filing obligations; the packet will include Sample Form 1, guidance on the Sunshine Amendment, Code of Ethics materials, and Form 8B (memorandum of voting conflict).
On a motion by Assistant Secretary Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Robert Twombly, the Board accepted Mr. Gilman's resignation.
