River Ridge CDD hears lakes update; compressor cabinet reduced measured noise but 'tone' remains a concern

At the July 23 meeting, River Ridge Community Development District received a lake-maintenance update from Premier Lakes and discussed a noise complaint related to the Masters Lake compressor.
Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported that lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are generally in good condition though seasonal algae growth was observed. He said crew removed a palm tree from Lake E7A shoreline as part of routine maintenance and that plantings are scheduled in the near term.
Kurth said a cabinet installed around the Masters Lake compressor reduced the measured sound level from 64 to 52 decibels at a point halfway between the compressor and the screen line. "The sound level has been reduced from 64 to 52 decibels," Kurth said, adding that, in his opinion, the current level was acceptable.
Shane Willis, operations manager, said the issue is not solely the decibel reading but the tone of the aerator, which some residents find objectionable. The board discussed options including moving the compressor and easement considerations. Mr. Willis will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth to consider relocating the compressor and will report findings at the next meeting.
The board reached consensus that canna lilies should not be planted in the littoral zone and agreed to delay plantings at Lake E4-A until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association. Staff will place those plantings on hold and resubmit the proposal for future board consideration.
