River Ridge CDD adopts FY2025 budget and amends special-assessment resolution

The River Ridge Community Development District Board of Supervisors adopted the fiscal year 2024/25 budget and approved changes to the special-assessment resolution at its Aug. 27 meeting in Estero.

District Manager Chuck Adams said the budget included an incorrect Fiscal Year 2025 line and that corrections were made to address scrivener errors before the hearing. Mrs. Adams opened the public hearing and no affected property owners or members of the public spoke. District Counsel Tony Pires asked whether any emails from the public had been received; Mrs. Adams said there were none.

On a motion by Assistant Secretary Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Robert Twombly, the Board adopted Resolution 2024-07, which sets the annual appropriations and adopts the budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024 and ending Sept. 30, 2025, with authorization for subsequent budget amendments. The motion passed "with all in favor," and the resolution was adopted as amended.

The Board then opened a public hearing on Resolution 2024-08, which determines benefit and imposes special assessments for the same fiscal year and certifies an assessment roll. Counsel recommended deleting all references to "Exhibit B" in the document; the Board approved the deletion and, on a motion by Mr. Blumenthal seconded by Mr. Twombly, adopted Resolution 2024-08 as amended. No members of the public spoke during the assessment hearing.

The Board recorded its action to correct the budget packet and to authorize staff to make ministerial amendments as needed. The budget adoption and assessment resolution carry routine administrative follow-ups, including posting any required documents to the District website and making the approved assessment roll available for collection and enforcement as provided in the resolution.
