County sets Aug. 19 public hearing on two road legalizations and discusses Boardman court‑annex involvement

Matt Kenny of Kenny Land Surveying reported the survey and legalization report for two roads and told commissioners monuments will be set and recording will follow; he recommended a public hearing. The board voted to set a public hearing on Aug. 19, 2026 to consider legalization of portions of Immigrant Lane and Morgan Road.

Separately, the county administrator updated the board on conversations with the city of Boardman about a proposed court annex. Commissioners said the county must be involved in decisions about space, citing that the county provides space for the circuit court; staff will meet with the sheriff, the district attorney, and judges to clarify uses and space needs. Commissioners noted the city of Boardman is considering a roughly 41,000‑square‑foot building while the county’s planned facility is about 23,000 square feet with an estimated $35 million project in a different context. County staff proposed a public outreach meeting on industrial development and data centers and asked whether to schedule a special meeting; commissioners agreed to plan a special work session on July 22 to prepare stakeholder outreach and return with details.

The board took the road‑legalization scheduling and the outreach planning as direction to staff; no final decision on the Boardman annex lease or a county commitment to a long‑term lease was made at the meeting.
