Cindy Bloomquist reported to the Plympton Council on Aging on March 10 that the Friends of the COA hold $6,558.65 in their treasury and have paid a total of $240 to four people as partial reimbursement for snow plowing. Bloomquist also announced that the April luncheon is set for April 8 at noon, with lasagna, salad and bread on the menu, entertainment by the Wooden Project, and a request for a donated full-size sheet cake. The June 3 luncheon will feature Slingo (music bingo) and the August cookout is planned for the Upland Club with entertainment by Bombshell Betty.
Jean Pacheco reported that COA warrants for February 2026 totaled $487.43 and that the pantry served 24 people across 12 households during the reporting period. Deb Batson told the board that OCES is aiming to raise $20,000 for southeastern Massachusetts communities—an amount the report equates to 2,352 meals—and provided a donation link as part of the report.
The board recorded these reports and scheduled events; no formal changes to program funding or policy were adopted at the meeting. The COA’s next meeting is April 14, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.
