District reports water testing at Pleasant Valley and Harrison Township schools; board posts results and response

Superintendent Dr. Missy Peretti told the board June 16 that water testing results arrived after the previous meeting and that the district notified staff and the community and posted results to the district website.
At Pleasant Valley School (PVS) the district collected 79 samples; three areas tested "over" on the first draw and the district responded to those areas the following day, according to Dr. Peretti’s report in the minutes. At Harrison Township School (HTS) 64 samples were taken; two areas tested "over" on the second draw and one area remained "over" after the second draw. The minutes do not specify the contaminant tested or the numerical levels; the board said the district notified affected staff and posted the information publicly.
The board also noted that NJ.com ranked Pleasant Valley School first in the county on its performance list; Superintendent Peretti said the district does not measure its work solely by such lists but that stakeholders should be proud.
Public commenter Kelly Redkelos, speaking during Audience Participation II, praised departing nurse Mary Garwood and said she agreed with the NJ.com ranking.
