Planning commission elects new chair and vice chair, tables minutes for corrections

A commissioner nominated Renee Burnt for chair; another commissioner seconded the nomination. The group closed nominations and proceeded to vote on the single nominee. One commissioner said, "I'm voting against her," during the voice vote, but the commission proceeded and the nominated officer assumed chair duties for the meeting. Commissioners also nominated Don Kennedy for vice chair (co-chair) and approved that nomination by voice vote.
Later the commission reviewed the minutes from its Dec. 1, 2025 meeting and found typographical and content issues: several members asked to correct Renee Burnt's name, to remove an erroneous roll-call note that listed Mayor Ned Cami as present, and to include or summarize public comments by Mr. Parfett and Katherine/Catherine Long. A motion to table the minutes until staff corrected those items passed.
The meeting ended after a brief personnel announcement: one commissioner said she had submitted her resignation. The commission then moved to adjourn.
