Harrison Township board approves multiple hires, transfers and substitute roster

The Harrison Township Board of Education on Aug. 18 approved a broad personnel package that included resignations, voluntary transfers, new hires and an as‑needed substitute roster for the 2025–26 school year.
Superintendent Dr. Missy Peretti asked the board to authorize the superintendent to hire between meetings when necessary to fill vacancies, contingent on criminal-history review and required certifications. The board accepted the resignation of General Aide Traci Pellecchia (effective July 28, 2025) and recorded employment withdrawals by Angela Stewart and Connor Hawkes.
Approved hires included Kayleigh Edwards of Haddon Township as a 10‑month plus 20‑day Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), effective Sept. 22, 2025, at a prorated salary established at $90,000 plus benefits, pending required clearances. The board also approved Jamie Wagner of Pitman as a self‑contained special-education teacher (effective Oct. 20, 2025), Monique Jones as long‑term substitute music teacher (Sept. 1–Dec. 23, 2025), and several part‑time and full‑time special‑education aides and general aides with start dates of Sept. 1, 2025.
A slate of substitute teachers, nurses, general aides, bus drivers, bus aides and custodians were approved for as‑needed employment from Sept. 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 at the district’s approved rates, pending clearances.
Personnel items 1–19 were approved on a roll-call vote of 9–0. The board packet contains attachments with contract language and salary-step references tied to the 2025–2028 H.T.E.A./H.T.B.O.E. negotiated agreement.
