Board President Stacey Muscarella announced her resignation from the Harrison Township Board of Education at the regular meeting on Sept. 22, 2025 in the Pleasant Valley School music room. Superintendent Missy Peretti read a resolution thanking Muscarella for her service to the district.
The board acknowledged Muscarella’s years of service and adopted the resolution by consensus; the minutes record the formal announcement and the superintendent’s remarks but do not specify next steps to fill the vacancy. After the announcement the board confirmed a possible date change for the December meeting if it conflicted with the winter concert.
The board also announced new committee assignments at the meeting: Tim Bast will serve on Finance, John Cavanaugh on Curriculum and Walter Bright will lead Public Relations. No additional committee recommendations or action items related to the vacancy were recorded in the minutes.
Later in the meeting the board recessed to executive session and returned to regular session, where it proceeded with other business including personnel and labor‑agreement items.
