The Village of Wardsville Board of Trustees unanimously approved the June 3 meeting minutes, Libby Chipmans June 2026 treasurer's report and payment of bills during its July 1 regular meeting.
Chairman William (Bill) Gratz opened the meeting at 6:31 p.m. and certified a quorum. On a motion by Mark Buschjost, seconded by Rachel Busche, the board approved the minutes. The treasurer's report was approved on a motion by Rachel Busche and seconded by Brian Schrimpf. Trustee Rick Taube moved to approve payment of bills; Mark Buschjost seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Trustee Rachel Busche reported that preparations for the July 5 Celebration are nearly complete and that Trustee Rick Taube has taken responsibility for operating the event speaker. Clerk Libby Chipman said she had sent thank-you cards to donors for the Memorial project and will verify names before placing a plaque; Don Welch and several volunteers were thanked for their work and donated materials that left the project just under budget. Gary Frank said Cole County's Matt should provide a schedule for road repairs next week.
Under new business the board briefly discussed a storm water issue reported by Gary Frank and decided to table further action to a later meeting. The meeting adjourned at 7:02 p.m. on a motion by Rachel Busche, seconded by Brian Schrimpf.
The minutes note that the minutes are not yet approved; they are scheduled for formal approval at the August 5, 2026 regular meeting.
