Wardsville approves minutes, treasurer's report and bills; COMPO introduces Title VI transportation program

At its April 1 meeting the Wardsville Board of Trustees unanimously approved the minutes from March 4, 2026 (motion by Brian Schrimpf, second by Paul Stonner), accepted the March treasurer's report (motion by Rick Taube, second by Rachel Busche) and voted to pay the bills (motion by Rick Taube, second by Paul Stonner). The meeting minutes record each motion as "carried unanimously."
Dan Weitkamp of COMPO introduced himself to the board and provided a brief overview of the Transportation Program and the Title VI civil-rights program, saying there are upcoming grants and that Route B traffic counts are on COMPO's list; he told trustees Libby Chipman had his contact information and that he was available to assist.
Village Counsel David Bandre' said a Central Bank checking account, previously used for water and sewer operations, is no longer active; he plans to move the funds into a six-month certificate of deposit and leave approximately $1,000 in checking. Clerk Libby Chipman said Decker & Pace has started the 2024 audit but the village's accounting firm will not provide all materials until after April 15, 2026, and that Mid America Bank's online network upgrade temporarily prevented printing statements this month.
