Harvey Cedars, N.J. — During the Nov. 18 Board of Commissioners meeting residents raised questions about lifeguard pay and the borough’s online posting of meeting materials.
Robert Kaplon of 13 W. 76th Street asked whether members of the Harvey Cedars Beach Patrol are paid when they leave their post early to attend competitions; Commissioners Paul G. Rice and Mayor John M. Imperiale confirmed they are not paid for such time. Kaplon also asked for faster posting of the Bill List and for ordinances to be more accessible online; the Mayor and Acting Municipal Clerk Christine Lisiewski said ordinances are no longer separately posted because they are automatically updated into the borough code via eCode. The Mayor offered to share the beach patrol management-team structure at a later date.
Separately, James Fritz asked during public discussion of Ordinance #2024-27 whether the badge-fee increase would affect senior badges; the Mayor confirmed senior prices remain unchanged.
