Councilwoman Susan McGuire moved to adopt the ordinance on second and final reading; Councilman Michael Sickels seconded the motion and the measure passed unanimously. Mayor Ron Kistner presided over the meeting in Council Chambers at borough hall.
The ordinance notice will be published in The Record as required. The council did not specify delivery or procurement timelines during the meeting; related DPW priorities were discussed earlier in the session, including a five-year equipment replacement plan and an upcoming salt-shed contract recommendation.
Because the funding source is a dedicated local reserve (PSE&G contribution reserve), the appropriation does not rely on a new bond issue. The council did not attach additional conditions to the purchase during the public meeting. The next steps are publication of the adoption notice and subsequent administrative steps to procure the vehicle under municipal purchasing rules.
