Kline-Hudson elected chair; commission forwards Schuett application and names Stebner alternate

Kathleen Kline-Hudson was elected chair of the Howell Planning Commission at its Jan. 15, 2025 meeting. The motion to elect Kline-Hudson was made by Vice-Chair Maryanne Vukonich and supported by Commissioner James Davis; it carried 6-0.
The commission also approved the Sept. 18, 2024 meeting minutes in a unanimous vote (motion by Mayor Robert Ellis; support by Vice-Chair Vukonich). In the new-business applicant interviews, two candidates spoke with the commission. After interviews, the commission voted to forward the application of Jeffrey (Jeff) Schuett to Mayor Robert Ellis for his review under the process described in Resolution No. 2024-14 and voted to add Randy Stebner as an alternate. The motion to forward Schuett's application was made by Jan Lobur and supported by Jon Hougaboom; the action passed 6-0.
The actions take effect administratively; the mayor is responsible for the next step in appointment review. No public comments were offered during the meeting.
