Board approves August bills, accepts multiple grants and OKs contracts
Summary

The Henry Hudson Regional PK-12 Board of Education approved bills and claims for August 2025 totaling $2,811,019.16 and accepted several grant awards and contract actions at its Aug. 20 meeting.
Business Administrator Janet Sherlock presented the financial items. The board recorded interest earned in July from TD Bank ($1,403.45) and the New Jersey Cash Management Fund ($21,372.70), approved transfers and reconciliations, and voted to accept multiple grant awards: a Trees for Schools grant administered by Sustainable Jersey and The College of New Jersey and funded by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in the amount of $95,205; Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) allocations (Title I Part A: $90,671; Title II Part A: $16,164; Title III: $7,363 via consortium participation; Title IV Part A: $10,000); and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) awards (IDEA Basic: $252,679; IDEA Preschool: $2,546).
Contract approvals included a $1,000 professional-development engagement with Graham Behavior Services to train staff on the VB-MAPP, a $1,500 virtual Wonders ELA training from McGraw Hill, and an agreement with Integrated Medicine Alliance (IMA) Urgent Care to perform student exams for referred students at $100 per exam. The board also approved a revised tuition contract with Lehmanns School, Ladacin Network for a total cost of $137,028.84 (revised to include a paraprofessional cost of $37,918.72 for Sept. 2025–June 2026).
A masonry change order (#3) from Madina Restoration Inc. for Project 25-9035 — masonry repairs and pediment replacement/repointing at district schools — was approved for $33,000 to be paid from contingency funds under the original contract. Food-service vendor Maschio’s was approved to provide breakfast after the bell at Atlantic Highlands and Highlands Elementary Schools at a charge of $2.25 per breakfast billed to the district.
Several of these business-administrator consent items were approved by roll call during the meeting. The board also authorized submission of an amended PEA workbook to include $36,636 in preschool-education aid restored via a fiscal appeal and a variety of PEA salary and benefit allocations for teachers, aides, and related staff across district schools.
No dissenting votes were recorded on these business-administrator consent items as presented in the minutes.
