Madison County canvasses federal primary: turnout about 35 percent, no discrepancies reported

Paula McKenzie, Madison County Clerk and Recorder, canvassed the federal primary election for the county during the June 15 work session and reported the results to the board. McKenzie said overall voter turnout was approximately 35 percent, with turnout in Big Sky described as low. She reported there were no discrepancies that would affect the outcome of any races in the election.
The commissioners recessed mid-morning and reconvened at noon to complete the canvas. After the election report, Commissioner William A. Todd moved to adjourn the meeting; Commissioner Duke W. Gilman seconded. Commissioners Todd, Gilman and Ron E. Nye voted in favor of the motion and the meeting was adjourned at 12:12 p.m.
The clerk noted the next scheduled Commissioner Work Session for Monday, June 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the Administrative Building's Public Meeting Room in Virginia City.
